bad news, then good news

snowy view of the garbage cans
You know it's bad when my last google search was "winter face skin care tips."
You know it's bad when Christopher says, "Gaius doesn't really need his puffy jacket.  He can probably just wear his polar fleece.  It feels much warmer outside." and it is a balmy 36 degrees.
You know it's bad when there is a frozen (dead) mouse near your front door.
It's pretty cold!

Gaius almost had a nervous breakdown on Friday.  I walked him home for lunch, and when we got to the front door, I realized that I had dropped my house keys in his classroom.  We had to walk all the way back to school, find my keys, and walk all the way back home again.  That was bad.

Gaius is just now getting over a cold.  Christopher and I are just beginning with ours.

It's not all bad though. Thanks to my mom and mother-in-law, I have enough triaminic, motrin and vicks vaporub to treat a small army.  :)

This weekend we had a lot of fun at the Gif-sur-Yvette Marché de Noël.  Gaius attended a chocolate atelier and made his own truffles!  He got to ride a sleigh pulled by a real live husky.  He got to go rock climbing, AND he had his face painted like Spiderman.  All for free!

Sorry it's been awhile since my last blog.  I'll have to tell you guys all about French Santa Claus in the next one.

à bientôt!

You crack me up, Heather. That was some wild ride! Thanks for the great pictures of Gaius. Glad he learned how to make chocolate truffles. He's so needy for chocolat. Ditto...

Dearest Heather
What a great day for Gaius! I'm so glad to see he hasn't given up on Spiderman! Aiden is into spiders these days - it makes me wonder if he's going to be a Spiderman groupie!
Love to you all. Stay warm.
