I am the mole

For the past few weeks, I have been wearing glasses, in public.  This is something that I avoid doing at all costs.  I much prefer contact lenses.  Anyway, I was having problems with my eyes, so I went to an ophthalmologist (actually the correct spelling!) and he prescribed eye drops, glasses and no eye makeup for 15 days.  Fifteen days in glasses in public is a long time if you are me.  My eyes are pretty bad.  This is how the Eiffel Tower would look to me without my glasses:

I had to wear glasses the entire time my Mom & Bric visited with us.  In solidarity, my mom wore her glasses out in public too.  Isn't that sweet?

My mom likes to take pictures.  You know how people who wear glasses always take them off for pictures?  When you look at the picture, you can always tell that these people have removed their glasses.  That's because they look like moles.  Do you know what I mean?

Anyway, I kind of got used to wearing glasses while out and about.  Here I am at the Louvre, standing next to one of the medallions that mark the original Prime Meridian or Rose Line in Paris.  This is the line that was featured in the Da Vinci Code.

So, the upshot is that I've almost gotten over wearing glasses in public. And even better, I have just two more days left of my sentence!  And, the doctor gave me a new prescription for glasses which means I get to buy a very fashionable and cool new set of French eyeglasses!

à bientôt!

As the one person in my family who does not (yet) have to wear glasses/contacts - I have always had a mild obsession with them.
I have actually bought several pair over the years with glass lenses just cuz I think they look cool. Truly I think you underestimate glasses - and your attractiveness in them. Glad that while you are in France you will get a new "cool" pair. I think you should get a somewhat wild pair - something like leopard print glasses or red/pink... even if you only wear them around the house ;) love all the pics - and your mom rocks :)

I am a mole too! In fact, I've always had problems with contacts until my stay in Denmark. The air here is so clean that contacts are easier for me to wear which works out great because glasses, biking, and rain are not a good combo. You and A. Jeanette look great in glasses. I agree with the above post that you should rock a crazy pair like Lisa Loeb inspired cat eyes or a really sleek rectangular shape that I've noticed here in DK.

Heather

You look fabulous in glasses. I wouldn't be able to handle the no-makeup in public! I can hardly wait to see your new fashionable glasses!

Heather, I wore glasses for twenty years. You look fine! Get some cool frames while you are there.
